The traditional V International Scientific Forum “Nuclear Science and Technology”, organized by the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University from October 7 to October 11. The event was dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the birth of Academician K.I.Satpayev, the founder of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR.
The fifth jubilee Forum became the main platform for discussing topical problems in the field of nuclear science, nuclear energy, radiation ecology and modern analytical methods, where the world's leading experts covered not only theoretical aspects, but also the wide possibilities of using nuclear and radiation technologies in medicine, industry and agriculture.
The Forum was attended by 340 participants, including 135 scientists from 15 countries. During the Forum, the participants from the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research presented more than 50 reports. Representatives of the National Group of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NGRK) at JINR showed themselves to be particularly active participants. In their reports and presentations, they covered current research areas of fundamental and applied nuclear physics, nuclear energy, radiation ecology, as well as problems of application of radiation technologies in medicine and industry.
