The employees of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research took part in the International Conference Biomembranes 2024

The employees of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research took part in the International Conference Biomembranes 2024 that was held on 7-11 October in the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in Dolgoprudny. The Conference brought together about 400 participants from more than 20 scientific organizations in Russia, Belarus, China, India and other countries.

The main goal of the Conference was to highlight the advanced achievements in such areas as integrative structural biology, biotechnology, new drug development and optogenetics, as well as to unite international efforts and interdisciplinary approaches to meet issues in these areas. The reports presented at the Conference were dedicated to the latest insights about the role of biological membranes, membrane proteins and biological macromolecules in regular processes, aging and development of pathologies such as oncological, neurodegenerative, cardiovascular and other diseases.

Scientists from various fields of biology, physics, chemistry and medicine demonstrated successful application of such current techniques in their research as cryoelectron microscopy, protein X-ray crystallography, small-angle X-ray and neutron scattering, computer simulation and others.
