Applications are now open for the AONSA Young Research Fellowship for 2027

The Asia-Pacific Association for Neutron Scattering (AONSA) Young Research Fellowship Program supports talented young scientists from the Asia-Pacific region, helping them develop expertise and careers in neutron science.
Eligible scientists are young scientists from the Asia-Pacific region who are no more than eight years removed from defending their dissertation.
The fellowship provides financial support for collaborative research at major neutron facilities in the region (but not in their home country). The duration of the fellowship is from 3 to 12 months.

Host facilities in 2027:

ANSTO (Australia);
CARR (China);
CSNS (China, limited to January–June 2027);
J-PARC (Japan);
IBR-2 (JINR).

To participate, please complete the following:

standard application form;
resume, including a complete list of publications;
letter of recommendation from a supervisor at your institution;
letter of support from the National Neutron Society.

JINR has observer status in AONSA. According to the agreement between AONSA and JINR, applicants from countries in Asia and Oceania that do not have a national neutron society but are JINR Member States may receive a letter of support from their country's Plenipotentiary Representative at JINR. This applies to the following countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan. The letter must indicate that the candidate is supported by JINR due to the absence of an official neutron society in their country.

FLNP invites young researchers from the above-mentioned countries who wish to undertake an internship at the region's largest neutron centers to participate in the 2027 scholarship competition.
