On June 2, as part of the JINR Days in Kazakhstan, a Summer School opened, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Astana Branch of the Institute of Nuclear Physics

The school program is aimed at young scientists, doctoral, master's, and bachelor's students, and high school students. Over the course of several days, leading specialists working directly in relevant scientific fields will give lectures and share their experiences with the participants.

On the first working day, FLNP employees presented a series of reports.

  • FLNP Deputy Director Bagdaulet Mukhametuly spoke about the Laboratory's research infrastructure, which allows for both applied and fundamental research.
  • Sergey Kichanov, Head of the Group, highlighted the main areas of collaboration between FLNP and the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of neutron studies of cultural heritage sites.
  • Inga Zinicovscaia, Head of the Sector of Neutron Activation Analysis and Applied Research at the Laboratory of Neutron Physics, presented a report on the potential of neutron activation analysis for solving problems in ecology, nanotoxicology, and food safety.
