The event brought together leading scientists, the representatives of national ministries, the employees of innovation centres, research organizations and educational institutions to discuss the prospects for the development of international partnership. The key topics for discussion were the expansion of scientific and educational partnership, the implementation of joint projects and support from JINR in the development of an advanced research infrastructure in Serbia.
At the plenary session "Serbia and JINR - 20 years of cooperation and future prospects" held at the Science and Technology Park Belgrade that was attended by the representatives of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia, JINR Director Academician Grigory Trubnikov presented a detailed report on the possibilities of research infrastructure and the implementation of JINR flagship projects, including the development of the IBR-2 pulsed reactor.
The programme of the event was continued by thematic panel sessions, in which the representatives of FLNP JINR took an active part. Within the framework of the panel session "Materials sciences: nuclear-physical modifications and research", Head of the Sector M. V. Avdeev presented an overview report on the activities of the Laboratory in the field of using neutron techniques based on reactor technologies for characterizing substances and diagnosing various objects.
Within the framework of the panel session "Nuclear technologies and their use in energy", the results of research on international projects were presented by Deputy Director of the Laboratory Yu. N. Kopach (TANGRA project) and the senior researcher N. Yu. Samoilova (project on lithium and sodium-ion batteries). During the discussion that was attended by JINR Directorate and the representatives of leading research centres of the Republic of Serbia, the results and prospects of joint projects were analyzed and a human resources development programme was discussed.
Deputy Director for Research Yu.N. Kopach "The JINR Days in Serbia confirmed the high level of mutual interest in the development of joint research. Within the framework of the TANGRA project, we see potential areas of mutual interest with Serbian colleagues and visits to research centres in Serbia have shown that we have all the preconditions for building long-term and productive cooperation" 
The possibilities of cooperation within the framework of using the FLNP basic facilities were discussed during the visits of the event participants to leading scientific centres in Serbia. Our scientists visited the Vinča Institute of Nuclear Sciences where a working meeting was held with Director Slavko Dimović and an excursion to the Laboratories of the centre, including the Laboratory of Theoretical Physics and Condensed Matter Physics, the Laboratory of Physics, the Laboratory of Radiation Chemistry and Physics. There were also visits to the Astronomical Observatory of Belgrade and the BioSense Institute (the city of Novi Sad), the research programme of which focuses on advanced (microbiological, robotic, information, others) agrotechnical areas.
