FLNP Director Egor Lychagin delivered an overview lecture on the laboratory's key research areas, scientific potential, and current projects. The guests then toured the IBR-2 pulsed research reactor — FLNP's flagship facility and one of the world's most powerful neutron sources for condensed matter research.
Inga Zinicovscaia, Head of the Sector, guided the delegation through the REGATA facility. This pneumatic transport system for neutron activation analysis enables the determination of elemental composition of a wide range of samples — from environmental objects to medical preparations and biotechnological materials.
Sergey Sumnikov, Junior Researcher, introduced the guests to the FDHR facility, an instrument used for precise analysis of the crystal structure of polycrystals, as well as for studying material microstructure and magnetic ordering.
Gizo Bokuchava, Head of the Sector, presented the FSD facility designed for studying internal mechanical stresses in materials.
