JINR employee Marina Frontasyeva among top five scientists in Russia

The Research.com leading scientific platform has published a list of the best Russian scientists of 2024 in the field of environmental sciences. A researcher of the Sector of Neutron Activation Analysis and Applied Research of the Laboratory of Neutron Physics at JINR Marina Frontasyeva got the fifth place.

Marina Frontasyeva is the Coordinator of the United Nations Europe Air Programme. In recent years, dozens of scientists and young specialists of the Institute have been conducting a range of applied research in the field of ecology under her leadership. The issues of anthropogenic and geogenic air pollution are reflected in numerous studies of mosses collected on the European continent.

One of Marina Frontasyeva’s recent major studies was a series of papers devoted to determining the concentrations and origin of macro and microelements in mussel samples from coastal areas of South Africa. In 2022, the Advisor to the FLNP JINR Directorate received the JINR Prize for marine biomonitoring research in South Africa.

We congratulate Marina Frontasyeva and wish her great scientific discoveries, success, and achievements!
