FLNP JINR announces the annual Conference of FLNP Young Scientists and Specialists to be held on December 9–11, 2025. Applications for the 2026 I.M. Frank and F.L. Shapiro Scholarships for young scientists and specialists, as well as reports from 2025 AYSS grantees, will be heard.

Young scientists, specialists, and employees of the Laboratory under 36 are invited to participate in the competition. The conference languages ​​are Russian and English.

The Frank Scholarships are awarded in the following areas:

  • Nuclear Physics;
  • Condensed Matter Physics Research by Neutron and Photon Scattering;
  • General Methodology;
  • Development of Basic Facilities;
  • Life Sciences.

The F.L. Shapiro Scholarships are awarded in one of the following fields:

  • Ultracold Neutron Physics;
  • Polarized Neutrons;
  • Neutron Spectroscopy;
  • Condensed Matter Physics;
  • Methodological Support for Neutron Physics Experiments.

➡️ Scholarship applicants must submit applications to the conference website (https://indico.jinr.ru/event/5719/) no later than December 3, 2025, at 11:59 PM (Moscow time). They must include a list of published papers over the past five years and an abstract in Russian (1-2 pages) outlining the applicant's main results. The abstract must indicate the section in which the application is being submitted. A recommendation from their supervisor must be attached.

❗Please note that since the official Regulations for the JINR grant competition for young scientists and specialists for 2026 have not yet been signed, grant applications will not be accepted for this year's conference.

📍 The results of the conference will be taken into account when distributing payments among young FLNP employees within the incentive fund.
