FLNP Director Egor Lychagin delivered an overview lecture on the laboratory's key research areas, scientific potential, and current projects. The teachers learned about the research conducted at the IBR‑2 reactor and how neutron studies contribute to physics, materials science, and biology.

Egor Lychagin and Scientific Secretary Alexander Nezvanov guided the guests through the I.M. Frank Memorial Office, where they discovered the history of the laboratory and the contributions of this outstanding scientist to the development of neutron physics.

Head of the Sector Inga Zinicovscaia led a tour of the REGATA facility and explained the possibilities of neutron activation analysis for determining the elemental composition of various samples — from environmental objects to medical preparations.

Junior Researcher Veronika Smirnova and Researcher Ivan Zel introduced the teachers to neutron tomography — a modern method of non‑destructive material diagnostics that allows one to peer inside an object without damaging it.

The visit concluded with a tour of the IBR‑2 control room, where the guests could see how this unique pulsed reactor is operated.
