The traditional NSCMR-2025 Conference on Neutron Scattering in Condensed Matter Research was held from September 29 to October 3 at Tomsk Polytechnic University

The conference program included the following topics:

  • Crystalline structures and elementary excitations
  • Magnetic structures and interactions
  • Non-crystalline materials, polymers, fluids
  • Surfaces, thin films and multilayer structures
  • Materials science and solid-state chemistry
  • Biological systems
  • Functional materials and applied research (energy, environment, geophysics, cultural heritage)
  • Fundamental research with neutrons
  • Theoretical aspects of neutron scattering
  • Reactor PIK: research program and instruments
  • Neutron sources
  • Neutron instrumentation
  • Complementary methods at synchrotron sources

A representative delegation from the FLNP JINR participated in the Conference, presenting the extensive neutron research being conducted at the instrument suite of the IBR-2 pulsed reactor, as well as the development of the neutron scattering instruments and the possibilities for conducting experiments within the user system at IBR-2.

During the Conference, a ceremony was held to present the Medal of the Russian Neutron Scattering Society (ROSNEUTRO) "For Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Neutron Scattering." This year, the medal was awarded to Viktor Lazarevich Aksenov, Chief Researcher at FLNP JINR, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
