Ilya M. Frank was born on October 23, 1908 (October 10, 1908, Old Style). He was a distinguished scientist, Nobel laureate, specialist in the optics of nuclear interactions and neutron physics, and founder and first director of the Laboratory of Neutron Physics at JINR.

In honor of this event, the JINR Historical Archive prepared biographical materials about Ilya M. Frank and presented some documents from his archive.
