November 9 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Prof. Lev B. Pikelner. Since 1959, he worked at the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics, headed the Department of Nuclear Physics, and determined the directions of many studies. His most striking achievement was the discovery of the parity violation effect in neutron resonances, which was several orders of magnitude greater than this effect in the interaction of nucleons. For these studies, in 1993, Lev Pikelner was awarded the Frank Prize "For Outstanding Achievements in Neutron Physics". (JINR weekly: http://jinrmag.jinr.ru/2024/43/pi43.htm )
