Education:

1973 – 1979 - Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, field of study: solid state physics;

1984 – Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (“Investigation of the dynamics of lattices of molecular crystals using neutron scattering”);

1991 – The title of senior researcher awarded by the Higher Attestation Commission;

1997 – Doctor of Physics and Mathematics (“Investigation of crystals with disordered hydrogen bonds using neutron scattering”).

Professional activities:

1973 – 1979 Researcher, FLNP JINR;

1989 – 1992 Scientific Secretary of FLNP JINR;

1992 – 1994 Visiting Scientist, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (UK);

1994 – 2000 Deputy Director of FLNP JINR;

2001 Acting Director of FLNP JINR;

2003 – 2012 Director of FLNP JINR;

Since 2012 Head of the Department of Condensed Matter Research and Development, FLNP JINR;

Since 2011 Honorary Professor at the Mongolian University of Science and Technology;

Since 2017, Head of the Department of Nuclear Methods of Materials Science at Kazan Federal University;

Since 2022 Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Scientific interests:

Lattice dynamics and phase transitions, disordered systems, diffusion in solids, experimental methods of neutron scattering.
