In the experimental measurements of γ-quanta angular distributions in р-wave resonances at the IREN pulse neutron source (FLNP, JINR) at the 11-meter flight path of 4th channel a significant background was observed. In particular, for relatively short time the antimony resonances of a quite good statistics become apparent at time-of-flight spectra. Upon closer examination it was turned out that one of the background sources is the lead shield partly irradiated by the neutron beam. This circumstance induced to decision to determine quantitatively impurities content in the lead bricks by the method of analysis of resonances in the transmission of neutrons NRTA (Neutron Resonance Transmission Analysis). The report describes the measurement and data processing method. The obtained results are compared with the current federal standard (GOST).
