Scientific problem:

Several instruments are located on the paths lengths of the Resonance Neutron Source (IREN) of the Frank Laboratory of Neutron Physics on which measurements of neutron transmission, capture and scattering using samples are carried out. The analysis of experimental data, feasibility appraisal and scheduling experiments require knowledge of the absolute fluxes of fast, resonance and thermal neutrons at the sample locations. In these research projects, neutron fluxs will be measured using various techniques and comparison between the obtained experimental data on neutron fluxes, as well as with calculation results will be made.

Objective: 

Measurement of neutron fluxes at FLNP facilities for further use in scheduled experiments and data analysis.

Tasks:

1. Estimation of thermal and resonance neutron fluxes at the sample location using NAA.
2. Estimation of the resonance neutron flux at the sample location using strong resonances.
3. Estimation of the fast neutron flux at the sample location using threshold reactions.
